Hi, my name is Mark and I come from California, the USA. I’ve been China for almost five years. I have a Chinese wife. Before I came to China, I had been teaching in a primary school. I love teaching and I love life here in China because Chinese people are always helpful and easy-going. I love my job because teaching them English is not only train them a skill but also give them a tool to know about the people all over the world. It helps them broaden their horizons and open their hearts to understand different cultures which is unique and interesting.
Hi guys, my name is Michelle and I’ve been an English teaching
professional since 2012. My major is Education and I may apply the relevant
knowledge to make my English teaching full of fun and entertainment. Besides, I
scored 7.0 in IELTS. I love teaching and I love socialising with
my Chinese students since it’s always been so pleasant and interesting to help
them improve a skill of using an international language. As well, teaching,
more than having people master a language, is a great opportunity for bilateral
understanding of culture and custom.
Let’s have fun together!

I’m Mark and I come from America. As the youngest of 8 children I have the fondest of memories of a colourful, happy childhood. After graduation, I spent two years on a working holiday in Europe – this was an extraordinary time in my life as I was able to spend a great deal of time tracing my ancestral roots and learning more about the English culture, I love so much. These two years were exciting but also tough; it taught me perseverance and responsibility and wonderful opportunities to see and explore new countries and culture. I have made a family in China so I also know some culture from China.

Hello everyone, I’m John and I come from California, the most beautiful state in the USA. During my three years of teaching English here in China, I’ve found the best way to facilitate students learning is to provide them with a fun and relaxing study environment. That’s one of the reasons I love teaching here at Highgate. My colleagues and I strive to create interesting lessons that challenge students and maintain an exciting atmosphere in the classroom.
Since I strongly believe that learning a culture is an important part of understanding a language, I always try to pass on whatever I can to help students better understand why Americans say things in certain ways. During my travels, I have been lucky enough to visit many countries and observe many different cultures, so I feel I can relate to anybody very easily.
My aim is to impart knowledge to a student by enabling the student to fulfill their potential without curtailing their natural instinct to learn and discover by curiosity and having fun. My approach is to ensure that students have ample opportunity to express individual and social skills, by providing a climate of acceptance, approval, empathy, and respect, balanced by the provision of self-standards and limits within which the student can develop into a self-disciplined, autonomous individual, to build confidence to explore the world.
